Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has publicly challenged comments made by Pastor Chris Okafor during his emotional apology, insisting she never lied about her allegations. The actress reacted days after the clergyman knelt before his congregation to seek forgiveness.
Pastor Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, apologised on Sunday following weeks of public accusations. While admitting wrongdoing and promising restitution to women he offended, he maintained that some of Ogala’s claims were untrue.
Ogala initially accepted the apology but later expressed displeasure with that specific statement. She said forgiveness did not mean accepting being branded dishonest. According to her, disputing her claims undermines her integrity and lived experience.
In a strongly worded response, the actress said she had forgiven the pastor but could not accept suggestions that her allegations were fabricated. She stressed that she has no reason to make false accusations and stood firmly by her earlier claims.
The controversy began after Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of reneging on a promise to marry her after an alleged intimate relationship dating back to 2017. She also accused him of financial exploitation and linked him to the death of her younger brother, claims that sparked massive online reactions.
Tensions escalated after the pastor’s recent wedding. Ogala alleged the marriage was forced, claiming the bride was raped and pressured into the union. She further alleged the bride’s mother, a church choir coordinator, had also been romantically involved with the pastor. The clergyman has not publicly responded to these specific allegations.
In subsequent interviews, Ogala called on the Department of State Services to investigate what she described as suspicious activities linked to the church altar. She alleged someone died during its construction and claimed the pastor pleaded with her to stop speaking about it.
The drama intensified over the weekend when Ogala was reportedly arrested during a livestream. She later confirmed police presence at her home but was released two days later. After regaining freedom, she thanked activist Omoyele Sowore and social media figure VeryDarkMan for intervening.
Following her release, Ogala disclosed she has made financial demands from Pastor Okafor, signalling a possible end to the prolonged public feud.
