Bitcoin could surge to a fresh all-time high within the next six months, according to asset manager Grayscale, which is forecasting a strong crypto market rebound in early 2026. The prediction was outlined in the firm’s newly released 2026 outlook, which highlights institutional demand and improving US regulation as key drivers.
Grayscale said Bitcoin’s price is likely to accelerate in the first half of 2026 as investors increasingly turn to alternative stores of value. The firm also expects regulatory clarity in the United States to unlock new waves of capital across digital asset markets, strengthening Bitcoin’s role in diversified portfolios.
The company believes the coming rally will mark a structural shift for crypto markets. Grayscale argued that 2026 could signal the end of Bitcoin’s so-called four-year cycle, the long-held theory that crypto prices move in repeating four-year patterns tied to halving events. In its view, broader adoption and institutional participation are reducing the relevance of that model.
Macroeconomic pressure remains a central part of Grayscale’s thesis. The firm warned that rising public sector debt and long-term inflation risks are increasing concerns about fiat currency debasement. As those risks grow, Grayscale expects portfolio demand for Bitcoin and Ether to continue climbing, particularly among institutional investors seeking hedges against monetary erosion.
Regulation is another major tailwind. Grayscale said the US policy environment has shifted noticeably over the past two years, pointing to dropped enforcement cases against crypto firms and the approval of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products. The firm also cited the passage of the GENIUS Act on stablecoins as a turning point for regulatory engagement with the industry.
Looking ahead, Grayscale expects Congress to pass bipartisan crypto market structure legislation in 2026. The firm said such legislation would formalize blockchain-based finance within US capital markets and provide the certainty institutions need to deploy capital at scale.
Beyond price forecasts, the report outlined ten major investment themes expected to define crypto markets in 2026. Grayscale highlighted stablecoin expansion following regulatory clarity, asset tokenization reaching a critical inflection point, and renewed growth in decentralized finance, particularly in lending markets. The firm also expects staking to become a default strategy for long-term investors.
Grayscale predicted stablecoins will move deeper into real-world finance, including cross-border payments, derivatives collateral, corporate treasuries, and online consumer payments as alternatives to credit cards.
Not every trend made the bullish list. Grayscale said quantum computing and digital asset treasuries are unlikely to materially influence crypto valuations in 2026, despite continued media attention.
Overall, the firm’s outlook suggests Bitcoin’s next major rally may be driven less by hype and more by structural demand and regulatory maturity.
